No restaurant in Kansas City can be matched when it comes to the history and style of the Savoy Grill. Regionally known for its lobster, the Savoy is deep in the firmament of KC History.
This restaurant was US President Harry Truman's favorite place to dine, and it even has a booth that was specifically his. Located on the ground floor of the Savoy Hotel, everything from the murals, to the stained glass to the waiters who have waited tables here longer than you've been alive makes this the most unique dining experience in KC.
The first time you go to the Savoy you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't order the lobster tails. They are amazingly good. After that you can head around the menu a little bit to the beef and the other fish, but you have to order the lobster tails. Again - order the lobster tails - you will thank me.
Be sure to dress upscale, because you will be having an upscale evening at the Savoy.
