I am a big value for the money believer. It's not that Lucilles is a outrageous ans much as it is BBQ joints in general charge way too much for bones! That said, Lucille's does a top notch job on their bones. The BBQ meats are tender and smokey. The sauce is served on the meat with extra on the side and is a nice smokey sweet.
Standouts are the full and half racks of ribs (pork and beef), the BBQ chicken, burgers and sides. Because I'm a penny pincher I usually end up ordering the burgers. Unlike the ribs, these are an awesome value! Big, fat and juicy with crips veggies and piled high with fried onion rings. To die for.
Side dishes also stand out. My favorites are the cheesy grits and fries. Mac n' cheese wasn't as good as I expected. The biscuits served with honey butter sauce are devine. You could make a meal on the biscuits alone.
Service points, the best service they have is call ahead take-out. Having dined in a few times I can tell you service is pretty quick. Still the convenience of calling it in or ordering online are much appreciated.
The staff at the Belmont Shore location are friendly. Lucille's decor will keep you occupied with it's mass of stuff to look at. Bonus -they give you a free lolipop when you cash out. Lucille's is a great place to bring visitors or as a special occasions stop. That said, I know a few people who are addicted to the BBQ and don't mind paying to eat it more often.
