User Reviews for Open Sesame
This resturant is small in detail but huge on taste! I would definately recommend this as an evening out if you are in Long Beach, Ca. It is extremely popular and sometimes there is a little wait but it is surely worth it! My favorite seems simple but the taste of the Tabook Chicken Panini is far from simple...it is amazing! =) I give this rating a 5 but it only came up as 1!
I love the vibe of this place. The food isn't super fancy, but it is full of flavor and variety. Its like a lebanese party in your mouth. All of the servers are really nice and we got served really quick even though it was so busy. We ordered a bottle of the petite noir (delish) and the yogurt dip and cold zucchini appetizer to start. I wish their pita bread wasn't the pocket kind because it looked like it came from a bag. The dip and zucchini were really good. I ordered the vegetarian plate and a skewer of the filet, and my two friends ordered the chicken plate and the shrimp plate. Both were excellent, but I thoroughly enjoyed my filet and my smokey, cumin dusted hummus. My falafel was a little overdone but still good nonetheless. Their tabbouleh salad is very light and refreshing. I went on a Tuesday and the rest of the street was empty compared to this place. There was a crowd hanging outside all evening long, so you know this place is good. I would highly recommend it.
Long wait. My wife liked her filet mignon. But I ordered a 'Hops Signature Item' Jamaican Chicken. It was supposed to be seasoned fillets on a bed of rice. What I got were two blank grilled fillets, with potatoes and cup of Teriyaki sauce and a very old-looking shred of pineapple. I complained to the waiter and he was gracious about it.
