What can you say about portfolio? A must-visit for anyone living on retro row, portfolio has comfy seats both inside and out. Their staff is friendly, and usually has your table cleaned off within five minutes of being done with your plate. Free wifi, and a children's book reading on Sundays. Wide selection of pastries, sandwiches and soups.
I had a bout of internet-less-ness over the summer. Having grown tired of bumming my neighbors wireless and up for a change of scenery, I hit up Portfolio. I went on a Sunday so parking was a bit tight. They do have a small lot and some street parking, but I had to circle the block.
Inside there was a bit of a line but things moved quickly. I ordered a large drip coffee and a berry and cheese tart. Pastry was good, a bit pricey ($3). That was made up by the 25 cents coffee refills and the free wi-fi. They also offered a nice selection of sweets. Plus sandwiches and breakfast bagels. In addition to the hot coffee drinks they have a full menu of cold and iced drinks. Teas and juices too.
Wi-fi connected easily, the only downside is you really have to scout out an electrical outlet if you plan on surfing for a while.
There's an ATM inside should you need it. The bathroom situation was a hot mess. One stall for, easily 40 tables. I made a game out of waiting for the line to clear and getting in before someone else cut in front.
For the smokers there's also outside dining. Overall I enjoyed my afternoon at Portfolio. Staff was nice, the coffee fresh and good.
I have been going to Rico's since I was 8 years old. Now I am 23 and live in Vancouver, BC. When I come home to Denver, I make sure to go to Rico's. You can't beat the prices OR the taste. Hands down, the best there is for Pizza and Pasta!
