The Prospector isn't much to look at, but their meals are very reasonably priced, with generous portions. A prime rib dinner, with salad and appetizers and a few drinks for two will run around forty dollars. Make no mistake, you're eating in the bar, and some of the clientele are... bar flies, but if you don't care and you want a good dinner for not too much money, The Prospector is a good find.
Right next to the CSULB campus, the Prospector is better known for it's music than food. Not that the food is bad. Good value for the money and tasty too. Come for the live bands but you won't feel taken by the menu.
the have a weekday special where you can choose a variety of dishes for $6.99, i went there w/ family and we ordered lots of dishes and were very satisfied! the orange chicken isnt your typical orange chicken at all, its deliciuos! theyre fried fish has a great tasting sauce for dipping! its a compact little place and gets very crowded, the service isnt a great as it should be but the food makes up for it!!
