Rock Bottom is a slightly higher end place to eat in Long Beach's Pine Avenue area. The food is good, and the service is very quick. Though it does tend to drag a little on busy nights, the bar can keep your night from lagging too much while you wait for tables. The food isn't out of this world, but it is very well prepared and standard "American" food.
For years the Runcible was the spot to drop in, hang out and always find a friendly conversation, the place to find out what's happnin' in Bloomington while having a choice of excellent coffees and teas served without plastic and along with a slice of their homemade cakes. Now that I don' live there I miss it and on any return visit make a beeline for the 'Spoon', as it's called.
