Alto is a luxury Italian restaurant featuring Michael White's interpretation of nrthern Italian cuisine, located in the Rockefeller Center area. Alto features a selection of over 2500 different wines, showcasing the Grand Cru of Europe and has received numerous Awards including the Grand Award for their wine list with wine spectator magazine. It recently received Threes from the New York Times, two star michelin and it is the only Italian Restaurant in NYC with Fours from Forbes Magazine. For lunch, Alto offers a 2 course lunch for $38.00, it is $19.00 for any additional course. For dinner, Alto offers a la carte menu as well as a four course prix fixe meal for $84.00 per person or a 7-course seasonal tasting menu for $130. Alto does nt required jackets but its preferred, n shorts or tee shirts .

ambiance		The service was spot on -- attentive but not fussy.... Tast is great. ambiance is good... All of the reviews do a good job describing the pretty ambiance and the attentive service. Quite nice... Yes, it's expensive, but what outstanding meal in the cit. Alto had it all - ambiance, warmth, superior staff, inviting surroundings and excellent food... Great choice for Restaurant week or any week....

We decided on a tasting menu with a wine pairing, and all of us were left speechless!! I dine out quite frequently around the city, and I have definitely found my new dinner spot... 4 of us took advantage of restaurant week - we ordered everything on the special menu & a bottle of the special priced $24.99 red wine... Beef pasta s. For dessert I had the panna cotta which did not really go with the meal (in terms of taste) but would have been good with a white wine... Such a nice place to have an intimate dinner. Terrific food, spectacular wine and nice service. If you're planning to have a first date with your special someone i would suggest this place. Nice, nice, nice!
