I was thoroughly impressed. I met up with some friends after the Gambero Rosso tasting in NYC. They chose the place and I am amazed. I met Vito and Alexandra and immediately felt like I was at thir home. The place is intimate but surprisingly large with hidden rooms all over. Dinner was held in the basement room. The floor has this gorgeous painted rug. But enough about the decor, let's talk about the food:

Started off with a garbanzo and pasta dish. Think of Pasta Fagioli but with garbanzos instead. It was amazing. The pasta was perfectly al Dente and the garbanzos were delicous.

Braised veal was the follow-up and it was equally outstanding. Then Vito brought out this amazing steak, perfectly done (medium rare. The meat had this gorgeous sweetness which was contrasted by the sea salt that decorated it. And the dessert, what can I say. They really outdid themselves.

I forgot to mention the wines, the wines at Aroma are incredible. I started off the night with a beautiful rose sparling, moved on to this incredibly balanced Italian Pinot Noir and finished off the night with Juda's Blood, a refreshing crisp red wine that was the perfect way to conclude the meal.

To Luciano - thanks for taking me to Aroma
To Vito and Alexandra - thank you for the wonderful meal and the warm welcome I will be seeing you again soon.

I completely agree with the review above. This place makes the most amazing Italian dishes I have tasted, and saying that in NY is not an easy thing to say. I can't even start on what was better, service, food, atmosphere. It leaves me speechless, so just get yourself to this place and have an amazing meal for gods sake.
