About Chez Josephine

A tribute to legendary Josephine Baker, this Parisian bistro with live music and tantalizing menu exudes theatrical panache. One of New York's most romantic restaurants, a bit of Montmartre on 42nd Street, the landmark jewel sparkles with an intimate setting of red velvet walls, a cavalcade of chandeliers and a blue-tin ceiling. The eclectic menu reinvents the traditional cuisine of the French bistro in an explosion of tantalizing flavor. Open from 5 pm to 1 am, Jean-Claude and Jarry Baker are your warm and welcoming hosts who treat you as family whether you come before the show, after the show, for a leisurely dinner in-between, or a drink at the zinc bar.

Chez Josephine draws a crowd unlike any other in New York as food critic Bryan Miller nted when he wrote: The dining room is a confluence of the famous and the fashionable, the infamous and unsung--with every shade of skin on earth and indeed you feel the magic of Chez Josephine.

My meal at Chez Josephine was a top notch experience. So... Recently, on a business trip I ate at Chez Josephine in New York. I am from Tokyo although have been to N.Y. a ton of occasions. My partner and I absolutely love the assortment of restaurants. I found Chez Josephine turn out to be stylish completely, from the look through the presentation. Wait staff at this particular restaurant was extremely awesome! The space is modern and pretty. The service was remarkable. Amongst my personal problems would be the preso wasn't that incredible. The look was decent but failed to provide you with that "omg" factor. The quality as well as amount of food turned out first-class. Even though no serious issues. Of the couple of starters & Two entrees we ordered, I would personally say 3 as extremely good and One as extremely okay The price was basically what we expected though perhaps a few dollars too overpriced. My husband and I had a great evening! So refreshing since there are so many New York City restaurants that are bad. Also was to see a NYC dining place with out too much attitude. I'm a massive fan of the place. Visit now ahead of the buzz gets ridiculous. We will be soon.
