excellent food. The sangria is AMAZING. very Cute place, perfect for romantic date if you eat in the patio in the back, and for a little more spicy evening just stay in the main dinig room where two musicians will play some really good cuban music.

I have been here twice. Havana Alma de Cuba lives up to its name in my book. As another reviewer mentioned, two different experiences can be had here. The outdoor area is great for a quiet vibe. Excellent for a date. Indoors is very festive. Lots of authentic music, complete with singing and guitars. If you like privacy, you may be out of luck. Hearing other people's conversations may be on tap but the food at this place makes it worth your while.
I am a big fan of their Ropa Vieja. Literally means "old clothes" in Spanish. It may not be the most visually appealing dish but don't knock it until you've tried it. It is beef cooked slow and then becomes stringy, much like pulled pork. I thought it was out of this world. I also remember having some delicious platanos with it. Most likely they were tostones on the side. The mix of sweet and salty is great.
I love the paintings on the wall. The one lady on the mural reminds me of Celia Cruz. The bar area is small but very nicely done. Sangria is a little heavy on the fruit content but sweet.
I was too full last time to do dessert but on my first visit here we did. The churros with chocolate sauce are tasty. The food here seems on point.

    I Ate:

    • Ropa Vieja: excellent ($18)

Now allow me to begin with mentioning I usually don't give my opinon on places. I'll just tell you I am a huge foody. Yesterday I ate at Havana Alma de Cuba in N.Y.. I'm from Australia but have been to New York a ton of occasions. My spouse and I absolutely adore the distinctiveness of cafes. The staff at this restaurant amazingly great! The food was outstanding. The order showed up amazingly quickly. One of my things was basically the presentation was not that remarkable. It was okay and yet just didn't provide you with that "omg" vibe. Even though no serious issues. All in all Outstanding food! The cost was what we all estimated though perhaps a couple of $ too pricy. I am a massive lover of the place. Visit now ahead of the viral buzz becomes insane.
