Il Violin is the perfect fine dining destination for those looking for traditional Italian fare while spending an evening at Lincoln Center or a romantic weeknight dinner with a loved one. The restaurant was established in 1993 by the Mariani family. They are from Villa Santa Maria, a little town in the hearth of Italy (Abruzzo) knwn as La patria dei cuochi. The chef Vincenzo, formerly the executive chef at Monsignre (one of the top restaurant in New York city in the 70s and 80s), leaded the kitchen with his international experience. In 2009 the owner, with the help of his cousin, decided to write a new page. The restaurant was renvated and transformed in a Trattoria: a warmer and cozier ambiance, one of those that you can easily find in any small town in Italy. The new menu was created by the young executive chef Nelson Siavichay (formerly at Cipriani in New York and in Sardinia, Italy), a well knwn chef who has a wide knwledge in Italian cuisine.
