User Reviews for Les Halles

bourdain

“...I admit I am a shameless fan of Anthony bourdain, so the last time we were in New York, Monsieur and I paid homage to the chef behind books like Kitchen Confidential and that gastro-TV wonder called No Reservations - by reserving a table at Les Halles, the Manhattan-based French brasserie where bourdain is Executive Chef...

wine

“... I've eaten dinners at the tables several times and also enjoy lunch at the bar or stopping by on a mid-Saturday afternoon for a cocktail or glass of wine...

fries

“... The enormous pile of their much touted fries that comprised a large part of my Steak Frites could have fed half of Paris, though they would have had to be prepared to forego the mayonnaise which took twice as long to arrive as the meal took to cook (which to their credit would have given Burger King a run for their money)...

Came first for Bourdain, returned repeatedly for the Steak Frites. Probably the best value on steak frites in NYC. If only Boston had a place like this. The fries have only been matched by the fries at Bouchon in vegas. Even though Bourdain has probably never cooked any of my meals there, I'll still hold him in high regards as a good chef due to the quality of food every time I've been there.
