I have visited Pound and Pence this week for the first time. It is located on a second floor of a building and is hard to be found from the street unless you already know about it. The place is two floors big. It is mostly frequented by the financial types. The first floor has a huge bar with plenty of stools and standing area. This area gets very crowded. The second floor contains the main sitting area. You will find comfortable leather chairs, round tables and even a pool table, which charges $2/game. The beers here are traditions English on tap; buddingtons, London pride and Guiness. There is a fairly impressive bottled beer selection, even some Belgian varieties. The place gets very crowded on weekday nights, but I imagine it is not so busy on a Saturday nights, being that the offices are closed. The burgers and fries here are amazing. I had the Pound and Pence burger and it was a pound burger that came with a tasty bun. The bun is probably the crown achievement, lol. Like I mentioned the décor here is really great, though the low ceiling on the second floor kills the mood. Be careful to reserve, if you need tables at night – this place gets crowded and tables get reserved quick. The waiter service is sub-par, but the place employs some very cute, young foreign girls. I can tell you right now – this isn’t a regular English pub – Pound and Pence has got class. The only gripe I have is their bathrooms. They are very small and the mens bathroom cannot fit more than 4 people. That should not stop anyone from going to Pound and Pence!

    I Ate:

    • The Pound & Pence Burger: huge, big burger comes with frites, amazing stuff ($11)
