About Sora Lella

One of Rome�s most famous restaurants, Sora Lella has been delighting diners with outstanding food & an enchanting location on Rome�s Isola Tiberina in the Tiber River since 1959. The restaurant was named after the co-owner & original chef, Elena Trabalza, nicknamed �Sora Lella,� an actress & sister of famed Italian actor Aldo Fabrizi, both of whose photos you will find throughout the restaurant. What started as a simple trattoria quickly became one of Rome�s most popular restaurants due nt only to the actors who frequented it, but also to Elena�s cooking. Over the past 50 years, the family has continued to run the restaurant & offer traditional Roman dishes using only the highest quality & freshest ingredients in a welcoming setting. With the opening of Sora Lella NYC, we are pleased to bring authentic Roman cooking to New York. Chef Mauro Trabalza, Sora Lella�s grandson, oversees the kitchen & continues the family tradition.
