wd~50 offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere on Manhattans Lower East Side. Chef Wylie Dufresne (formerly of 71 Clinton Fresh Food and Jean-Georges) and Pastry Chef Alex Stupak (formerly of Alinea, Chicago) serve modern American cuisine renwned for its flavor, sophistication, and innvation. The dining room, which seats 70, is a contemporary space designed by the chefs father, Dewey. The restaurant is open for dinner five nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday. wd~50 was awarded four stars by New York magazine, has a Michelin star, and in March of 2008 was awarded three stars by Frank Bruni of the New York Times. Wylie has been nminated by the James Beard Foundation for Best Chef, New York in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Restaurant Magazine (UK) included wd~50 in the S.Pellegrin World's Fifty Best Restaurants list in 2005 and in 2010. The restaurant accepts reservations for the a la carte menu and the tasting menu ($140.00).

    My dining event in wd-50 was really a excellent experience. Let me just say I'm a serious foody. Recently, on a business trip I ate at wd-50 in NY. I am from NJ although have been to Manhattan a considerable number of occasions. My partner and I adore the variety of dining establishments. Wait staff at this particular restaurant was extremely awesome! The evening was superb. The entrees showed up very fast. Definitely one of our problems had been the plating was not that remarkable. The idea was fine although didn't provide you with that "wow" factor. The the level of quality and also amount of food ended up being first-class. Among the two or 3 starter items -n- Two entrees we ordered, We would rate 3 as fantastic & just one as very fine Excellent food! The price was just what we all anticipated though maybe a couple of $ $ $ $ too pricey. I'm a big fan of the place. Experience this now prior to when the publicity becomes insane.
