I probably should not post this review because it might ruin a hidden paradise. I may yet come back and delete it - you were warned! Noda's is without a doubt the best Japanese restaurant in the greater Albuquerque area. The food is fresh, excellently prepared with a minimum of flashy showmanship & the service is charming & quietly efficient. This is not a cheap sushi cafeteria - it is a delightful dining experience and the prices reflect that. The waitresses don't dress in kimono & you don't have to take your shoes off and sit cross legged at a table, but real care goes into the food & service. It is hidden away in a small roadside business area & you would totally miss it in passing. It is a word of mouth kind of place & those who have stumbled on it by accident, as I did, feel truly fortunate. A better location might improve the overall appearance, but the quality of the restaurant might not be as good if it became too crowded. They offer a wide range of dishes, from teriyaki & sukiyaki to sushi & sashimi, all of it beautifully presented. The salmon sashimi & nigiri rolls were delicious, as were the pot stickers we had as appetizers - choice of steamed or fried! That last bit might not be important to some people, but as a woman who has to watch her calories, having that option was a blessing. I've had cheaper Japanese food, but none better.
