My favorite place for alta cocina. The small plates provide bursts of flavors artfully prepared from high quality ingredients and organic meats. Ambiance is stylish and it's still easy to find a parking spot in Oakland oldtown.
Yes, I realize this a "Tapas Place", but the portions are small. And... it's overpriced. It's not a place that would be on my regular lunch schedule, but it's decent enough to make it an occasional stop.
Although, I have to say, the service is generally good, the food is yummy.
I really like their guac, which is rare for a restaurant - I'm generally pretty picky about my guac. It's obviously quite fresh. I've had their chorizo torta, which definitely is really good - like the pepper in it, gives it a nice zing.
Overall, good place, just plan on being hungry by 5.
