I was introduced to Los Dos Molinos by my adviser, who insists that it's the best authentic Mexican food in the Phoenix area. He also said that it was definitely on the spicy side.
Boy was he right about the spicy, though I'm still a bit up in the air about it being the best Mexican food in Phoenix. We sat down to homemade chips and two types of salsa: green and red. The salsa was thick enough to stick to the chips when you dunked them, and hot enough to let you know that you're eating something with a kick!
I ordered the green chili abodaba (pork) burrito plate at the suggestion of the waitress for $12.99. The beans were great -- not refried but topped with a bit of cheese, just how I like them. The rice was adequate. The real star of the meal, though, was the burrito. The tortilla was handmade and the pork was juicy and flavorful. The green chili sauce was plenty hot, but definitely delicious.
I live in Nashville but frequently visit friends and family in Murray so I've been to Dumplins quite a few times. I certainly agree that the desserts are heavenly. Daily specials are usually great as well, and the enormous yeast rolls with honey butter are crazy good. I asked my server, and she said the rolls are made from scratch every morning.
