My favorite place for oysters! The raw oysters are very tasty and inexpensive. We love to drop in every couple of weeks for oysters and drinks. The fresh bread is great too.

It's no surprise that there is a lack of fresh, tasty seafood in Arizona. When I told my mom I wanted to take her to Pappa's for her Birthday to have some fresh fish, she almost lost it!
Walking onto the wooden deck in back, it truly felt like we stepped into New Orleans. There was a live band with brass playing. There were misters delivering a refreshing blast of moisturized air. The staff even offered drinks while we wait!
After a 3 minute wait, we were offered a seat instead of simply being "sat down". We accepted and began our plight down the tastes of the Mississippi. Always striving to try something unique, I opted to order the crispy fried alligator. This really is one of those dishes that tastes like chicken! The drink was a tad expensive, but memorable to the date of this writing. After one bite of my Hazelnut Crusted Tilapia, my taste buds sent a shockwave through my body. I hadn't tasted fish this fresh in the valley in so long. In fact, it hadn't been since my previous trip to California that I had the pleasure of eating decent seafood.

I remember our waiter being very high energy and earning every penny he made that night. He was a charismatic guy that you'd think only existed in movies. The Chef and manager even came to our table to make sure everything was great! If you can, try to get a seat near the side of the main room so you're out of traffic. I noticed a few people having trouble getting up and going to the bathroom because a waiter or waitress would zing by every few seconds.
You could tell the staff enjoyed working together and the synergy of that restaurant was something I've yet to see again.

For delicious seafood, you'd be letting your taste buds down if you didn't give Pappadeaux just one try.
