Every time I go to this restaurant in Pasadena I order one of the specials and I am never disappointed, even if it sounds like something I wouldn't normally like. I've never ordered the same things twice -- the specials appear to be one-time dishes that use lots of fresh ingredients. I got a shrimp salad with heirloom tomatoes the other day.
