Chan-an is the best chinnese restaurant. Not because they are so close to my home but that is a plus. For take out is the best, eveything is hot and fresh and always woth the money. Please get yourself there for lunch you will not be disappointed.
...Brigtsen's is everything the others have said and more. 'Pain' because it was always a tough reservation before Katrina, a little easier now. Some cab drivers and concierges don't even know it reopened right after Christmas 2005 [and the same ignorance is hurting other restaurants and night spots so don't take their word for it].
