What a novel idea! Two guys from Italy (yes, real Italians running an Italian restaurant) open a nice neighborhood restaurant in Rockville/Potomac, cook really good food, and treat people like they want them to come back. That's what Roberto and Davide have done at Amici Miei. This might sound trite, but no one else is doing this in this area. That leaves Amici Miei head and shoulders above almost every other Italian restaurant in the area. Chef Davide knows how to run a kitchen. The food her

I have been going to Habibi since its opening and find it to be outstanding Lebanese cuisine. The vegetarian mezzo platter is usually my dish of choice. It contains a wonderful assortment of hummus, falafel, tatziki, etc. I also recommend you try the baklava....its delicious!
The owner of Habibi is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Oh, and a tip: if you go on your birthday you can eat for free.

    I Ate:

    • Vegetarian Mezza: delicious ($9)

Excellent Hummus and the Lamb Schwarma keeps me coming back every time. I have brought family and friends here, which is the only way I get to taste any thing beside the shwarma. The lamb shank is also excellent.
The owner is always ready with a greeting and a handshake. He's the kind of host who remembers you even the second time you come in.
Be sure to try the Lebanese red wine. It's very good.
This place used to be in two worlds, pizza by-the-slice and Lebanese. Even now you will find a few Italian tidbits on the menu, presumably to satisfy some old regulars, but the star is the Lebanese food. The remodeling was well done. The owner honors his parents inside the cover of the menu. I believe they own another Lebanese restaurant in town.

    I Ate:

    • Lamb Schwarma plate: Wonderful flavor ($10)
    • Hummus: Some of the best in Portalnd ($4)
