Of all the many Thai restaurants in Richmond, Siam Paragon truly lives up to its name. Not only is the food exceptional, but the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. On my last visit I had the sun-dried beef appetizer. With a side of tangy sweet and sour sauce and beautifully julienned carrots and red cabbage, the beef appears to be a small portion. One bite however, and your mouth explodes with flavor and after savoring each piece you are fully satisfied. The Tom Yum soup was not exceptional but it didn't miss the mark either. We decided to split the soft shell crab appetizer, at a hefty cost of $25, but it was worth it. It was the perfect size for two people. With a choice of sauces we went with the ginger scallion and it was a winner.The crab was crispy, fresh, and meaty and the sauce was full of vegetables. For desert we had the mango sticky rice and split it. Although it was a little small, the sweet flavor goes long way and is a perfect finish to a romantic $50 dinner.
