When I first moved to San Diego (Specifically the OB area) I was told that I HAD to visit Hodad's. So I went in there with extremely high hopes because of all the rave. I was fairly disappointed with my experience there. Over priced hamburgers made from what seemed to me frozen hamburger patties. I had expected that for the $9 I pad for it that it'd be the best thing on earth. Not so. I'm not saying it was horrible, but definitely not worth the praise i had heard all over. The service was terrible, there's no where to sit, and I still can't understand that to this day, every time I walk by there, there is a line out the door. I suppose if you are really dying for a hamburger, and there is no line, it might be alright, otherwise I'd advise to stay clear, and visit one of the other GREAT restaurants on newport avenue.
