A co-worker and I stopped by this place in Pacific Beach one warm afternoon for lunch. Walked in, read the paper menu that was available while standing in line, payed the register worker, and sat down in a cafeteria style table, with a bit of Japanese decor. Food came in a short 5 minutes, extremely hot (temperature wise) so we new it had been made fresh. I ordered a tempura chicken soup of sorts, and it was delicious. Since the first time, we've been back for many lunches, and they never seem to disappoint.
Great Jazz - Terrible Food My husband and I had wanted to try this place for some time. The music, performed by a very talented jazz duo, John and Mary Vreeland, making their debut appearance at Frederick's was outstanding. The food was anything but. It started with a hair in my husband's stuffed mushrooms, four mushrooms in a very 'winey' but rather lackluster sauce. My appetizer salad didn't contain all of the ingredients listed on the menu, although it was one of the two best food items. The
