User Reviews for Bleu Bistro
This place used to be way cool, until a matronly lady tripped going up the rickety stairs that lead to many little hide-a-ways, all enclosed with left-over wood and velveteen curtains. The lady threatened to sue, and so Bleu took down the second floor. They kept just a few hideaways on the first floor, but mostly turned it into an inexpensive version of their sister restaurant Chez Gaudy, for those who can’t afford it or find it (Chez Gaudy is unmarked and unadvertised.) But if you don’t know any of this, you’ll be impressed by Bleu Bistro.
The antipasto plate is a super-sized hummus plate. You’ll have trouble arranging your drinks along with the large cutting board- it serves as your “dish” for antipasto- in a way that you can easily reach everything. It comes with meats, cheeses, peppers, pita, and lots of hummus and olives. This is like a gigantic hummus platter... a real meal.
It goes without saying this is a great place for a first date (or a tenth anniversary) because of the privacy. There’s a lot of variety on the menu, too. They have pasta, comfort food, sandwiches, and vegetarian dishes. All of which can help two people, who don’t know each other well, feel very comfortable.
This is a place we go on a regular basis for dinner or beers- in fact, it used to be a regular Sunday evening stop for years. They have good food, drink specials, and a couple outstanding bartenders. You can take your family here to eat.
