User Reviews for Rosa Mexicano - DC
Personally, I'd avoid this overpriced and too loud eatery and head down the street to Oyamel for a much grander culinary experience. That said, the food here is "good" and satisfying, but not particularly memorable. The tableside making of the guacamole is becoming the equivalent of the ceasar salad tableside creation 40 years ago.
I also have to agree that this place is average at best. I also went to Oyamel and thought they were better but not as good as my favorite. Casa Oaxaca in Adams Morgan. This exception and truely authentic mexican food is truely superb. They were also nominated along side of Oyamel for an award for most authentic mexican restaurant in dc by the ministry of tourism from mexico. Check them out their mole is very different then anything else in the area with i believe 6 different types.
I had the Frijoles con Puerco and I feel the service was rused and sloppy nothing like it was whenI first went here for my 18th birthday at the start of the this resturants career. I think because of the area it get a lot of track and they try to rush people in and out. Also, I think you can get much better service and food at other Mexican or latin inspired resturants throughout the city. I will say that when using there catering service or having a private dining room for an event, etc. It is a completely duifferent level of service and food but again very expensive. I don't think I will be rushing to go to this location anytime soon.
