meh. it was ok. nothing incredibly special.
my friends LOVE this place and jump at the chance to eat here. we started with the chips and dips, which were probably the best part of the meal. the chips were made fresh to order and the hummus was top notch. hummus and chips are one my favorite snacks ever.
i was feeling especially hungry, so i ordered the el yucatan for my entree. the rice and beans were under seasoned, the texture of the plantains was off, and the sauce on the chicken was very very sweet. i figured that a honey chipotle dressing would have a bit of a kick, but it tasted like watered down honey sauce. not my favorite.
i would probably go back a second time to try the mexican salad or black bean burger that my friends raved about. never again with the el yucatan entree even though plantains always sound like a good idea to this lady.
