Cranberry Sauce

Makes about 2 1/2 cups.

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
12-oz bag fresh or frozen cranberries (3 cups)
1/2 tsp freshly grated orange zest

Cooking Instructions
Step 1 Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and simmer, stirring occasionally, until berries just pop, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in zest, then cool.
Step 2 Cooks note:
Step 3 ҕ Cranberry sauce may be made 3 days ahead and chilled, covered.
