The always entertaining Alton Brown — a James Beard Award-winning chef, author, actor, and cinematographer — has transformed his disdain for social media into a revolutionary way to Tweet.
Despite Brown’s aversion to social media, when his agent demanded he choose between Facebook and Twitter, he chose Twitter and began tweeting, but his tweets consisted of pictures in the form of hand-written notes.
Brown’s odd tweets eventually captured the attention of Wired’s Elsie Craig.
Brown’s unique tweet concept was hatched when he sent out some text-based tweets, but one day used the wrong form of your/you’re; the Grammar Police were quick to point out his transgression.
A boycott resulted and Brown vowed that for the next 30 days, he would only tweet what he could hand write. “And people really seemed to go gaga for it,”Brown said.
