Cameron Bar and Grill in Raleigh, North Carolina
FE: Tell us about your restaurant.
Chef John: Cameron Bar & Grill is known to Raleigh patrons as a classic all-American mainstay located in Cameron Village. From the vintage decor displaying the Capital City in the simpler times of the 50’s and 60’s, to the classic comfort foods you know and love, walking through our doors will give you a taste of Raleigh’s past, redefined.
FE: What is your restaurant philosophy? Is there something that everyone strives for with each action taken at your restaurant?
Chef John: CBG’s philosophy is something I have worked very hard to cultivate and brand. We at CBG believe in creating exceptional dining experiences for guests from the first second they walk through our doors, to their last bite of Bourbon Chocolate Brownie, all the way ’til the farewell from our amazing front-of-house staff. Guests desire a one-of-a-kind experience when they leave their homes and enter ours for dinner, and we aim to deliver the best, most fresh, and delicious cuisine that Raleigh has to offer.

Cameron Club Sandwich
FE: What is your most popular dish? Why do people love it?
Chef John: As far as popularity is concerned, CBG has quite a few contenders that serve as our patrons’ favorite cuisines. It’s hard to choose the most popular because our guests enjoy our diverse menu, just like us; from pasta, to burgers, to salads and soups, we have something for everyone at CBG.
FE: And what is the one cocktail your bartender loves to make?
Chef John: Our Carolina Basil Lemonade. The mojito has met its match in this spring inspired cocktail made from sliced lemons and freshly picked basil, and as all CBG ingredients, they come straight from local N.C. farms. This refreshing cocktail gets it’s start with muddled basil and sliced lemons followed by Muddy River Carolina Rum. Then we add a little southern shake above the shoulder and give a sweet citrus cut to the cocktail by adding Sierra Mist. Boom, easy as that, you have a Carolina spring in a glass.

The Raleigh Burger
FE: What makes you stand out above the rest?
Chef John: CBG is special, to me, because we operate like a family. Everything we do from the innovation behind the swinging kitchen doors, to our hospitable front-of-house staff, to our mixologists behind the bar–we all work together seamlessly to elevate our guests’ experiences which showcases how much we care about our guests. We’re fresh, delicious and full of love.
FE: Do you offer any deals such as happy hour specials, brunches, etc?
Chef John: CBG offers $5 Burger Tuesdays for dine-in guests from 5PM-10PM; Farm to Table Saturday dinner feature created from locally sourced farm-fresh produce; Final Fridays featuring live music on the last Friday of the month from local bands, no cover; Sunday $2 domestic bottles; Monday 1/2 off wine by the glass; Tuesday $3 craft beer; Wednesday 1/2 off wine by the bottle; Thursday $3 draught beers; and $3 Craft Beer Can of the Month everyday.
