This week’s FriendsEAT’s Favorite is Dan Perlman, the genius behind SaltShaker blog.
Tell us a bit about what you do.
What’s the best meal you’ve had recently and where did you have it?
A tasting menu from chef Dante Liporace at the new Tarquino restaurant here in Buenos Aires – http://www.saltshaker.net/20120214/whats-in-a-name
What’s the most exotic food you’ve ever tried?
Chirimpico – a chopped mix of baby goat’s heart, liver and intestines that are stewed with the blood of the same goat and then mixed with cilantro, peas, squash and chilies. It was.. really, really good.
Do you have a favorite celebrity chef or TV show featuring food?
I usually get caught up in the annual Masterchef Australia series when I can watch it online – they’ve taken the original British show and made it fun, taking all the stiffness out of it, and they haven’t gone the route that the US version with its nasty competitiveness and pompous American Idol style judging has.
Where do you live?
Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Share with us an insider tip for your city!
The underground dining scene is all the rage these days, and one of the more interesting ways to meet new people and try interesting cuisine.
What’s your favorite thing about FriendsEAT?
The social interaction.
