If we’re not talking about politics and society in general, then we’re talking about food. It’s obvious, I mean, why would TV networks spend just to show how to make cakes or roast chicken? That’s because it’s our nature. We like the good things in life, and food is one of those good things. It’s one of the biggest draws on television, apart from MTV.
So, what foodie shows should you watch today? We’ll here are some of my suggestions:
Food Paradise: Deep Fried Paradise (Wednesday at 7 a.m., the Travel Channel)
Fried foods are the stuff obesity is made, but a little indulgence once in a while is good for the body, too. Watch this show as it brings you into a world that’s glistening with greasy goodness.
Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern: Philippines (Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Travel Channel)
Andrew Zimmern is back! This time, the king of bizarre cooking visits the Philippines to sample its native delights. From munching on roasted crickets, savoring balut, to chomping on some live worms and stuffed frogs, the guy never ceases to amaze me.
Man vs. Food: Boston (Wednesday at 12 p.m., the Travel Channel)
Adam Richman is in Boston this time, ready to take on his next challenge yet. Watch him as he joins a traditional New England clambake meal and a spicy feast from Hell. As his challenge, he’s going to wolf down a huge 12-pounder of hamburger, and see if he’s faster that his Bostonian opponent.
Food Wars: Barbecue (Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Travel Channel)
Camille Ford is on it again. This time, she’s traveling to Texas to see for herself which of the two feuding families have the best Texas BBQ: Kreuz Market and Smitty’s market. Witness how this debate is solved with a blind taste test of the two family’s best bargecue.
Good Eats: True Brew IV ” Take Stock (Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Food Network)
Alton Brown is our genius in the kitchen. This time, he’s going to prove that making your own stock is as good an investment as it is. He’ll be showing us the science behind the art, and some tips on how to liven up our taste buds.
