It is not often that you get two giant companies to work hand in hand for a common cause. If they do, it only means that is a very special cause. Top cookie provider, Keebler Cookies, (Kellogs) have joined forces with the American Red Cross in giving away goodies for blood donors.
I would not be surprised if a lot of people are helping out in giving away treats to others who wants to help in any way they can. Cookies and juice are just some of the popular treats that these groups like to offer whenever there is a blood drive in their area. And this probably caught the attention of a giant cookie company which is seeking to do the same thing ” helping people who are also in the line of helping others. Not everyone knows this, but Kellogs have been helping out and supporting Red Cross and their causes. This includes blood drives, relief operations, and many more. I think it’s just natural for an individual to offer help to those who are in need, especially if you have the means to do so.
This time, the partnership became more formal and more specific, to be able to give back to the people who are donating their own blood for those who need them. The Red Cross have been receiving and providing blood for millions of people around the world. And in the U.S. alone, around 4 million donate blood and blood products to a lot of people across America. Keebler Cookies is set to donate over six million of their baked cookies for the American Red Cross blood donors, and this partnership really benefits Red Cross in more ways than one. It encourages more people to donate blood by handing out special Keebler cookies for a special cause, and it lets the American Red Cross save almost $2 million annually. The savings can be used for other much needed causes, for calamities, for relief operations ” mainly, it lets them save and provide help for more people. And by this, I’m starting to believe that cereals and cookies are not that bad after all.
Overall, I really think this new partnership will be successful in its own way. The Red Cross is a non-government organization, so there should be less politics and more humanitarian acts. It has become a home to many volunteers who are willing to help without asking for something in return. It allows the public to help other people in any way that they can. Together, Keebler and the American Red Cross aims to gather more people, inspire others to act, be a responsible citizen, and lend a helping hand to extend their help to those who are in need. Cookies may not be the healthiest food out there, but it certainly does not kill an individual, in fact, it is being used to save another person’s life.
While the partnership is still not being agreed to by others because of the cookies’ nutritional debate, what’s important is the cause. But I am still hopeful that in time, healthier options will be served to people ” not that people donate blood to get freebies, anyhow.
