Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen and Lounge serves New Orleans-style casual dining for Creole-Southern fare and an oyster bar in an elegant former church. We had a chance to talk to Marsha Brown herself, who shared with us a few tidbits about the restaurant, their food, concept, and business philosophy. Here’s what we learned:

Marsha Brown Owner of Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen and Lounge in New Hope Pennsylvania
FriendsEAT: Tell us a little something about your Marsha Brown.
Marsha Brown: After years in the restaurant business, I have decided it was time for the divine flavors and bold personality of my Louisiana upbringing to ascend north of the Mason-Dixon line. My idea was to create a refined Creole Kitchen & Loungethat made the authentic taste and charm of New Orleans available” A place that was an extension of my own dining room, where I could share my family’s most cherished recipes.
I conceived this labor of love as a sophisticated, yet friendly, southern fine dining venue that offers the highest quality of fish, meats and fowl prepared with simple decadence, relaxed yet elegant surroundings, and understated Southern hospitality.
FE: Are there any awards you have received that you are particularly proud of?
Marsha Brown: 2015 and 2016 winner of ‘Diner’s Choice’ on Open Table
FE: What is your restaurant philosophy?
Marsha Brown: Marsha Brown Restaurant is an environment where souls are moved into peace and comfort through selected textures, quiet colors and engaging hospitality. A refuge where our character is habitually displayed through small courtesies and considerations that make our guests feel special and treasured. A commitment to seek and acquire premium products which will amuse all five senses. A place to which you’ll long to return.

Eggplant Ophelia
FE: What is your most popular dish? Why do people love it?
Marsha Brown: Our most popular dish is the Eggplant Ophelia, which is named after my mom. It’s strictly her recipe of shrimp and crab meat casserole, topped with grilled eggplant and baked until golden brown, then elegantly garnished with our Creole butter sauce.
