Albert Adria, the brother of celebrated chef Ferran Adria, is proudly showing off his new playground now. It is two playgrounds, actually.
That is what Tickets and 41 Degrees is all about.
These two restaurants are the hottest places to go to in Barcelona. Both tourists and locals alike enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere in both restaurants. Which does not come as a surprise, as Albert Adria is also a name to watch in the restaurant scene.
41 Degrees is a bold attempt of the Adria brothers to introduce mixology to a country that has a surprisingly poor taste when it comes to drinks with an “and”in the mix. The bar is currently offering only the classic cocktails, but they brothers are coming up with new drinks that will excite the senses of even the most veteran of drinkers. The bar also offers an excellent array of snacks, which includes some recipes culled from the El Bulli archives.
The Tickets tapa restaurant, on the other, goes for the more “theme-park”appeal of the place. The restaurant is divided into five areas, depending on the specialty. Nostromo 180286 takes care of the tapas, The Garage prepares the grilling and pan tumaca, La Estrella serves alcoholic drinks, La Dolce serves the sweets and other desserts, and La Presumida cooks the main dishes, the seafood, and the charcuterie.
Given the offerings of these two places, plus the illustrious names of its owners, then you should not be surprised if they are the most popular dining spots this side of Barcelona. After all, with El Bulli closed down, where else can diners experience the gustatory adventure that Ferran Adria provides?
Just be ready for the long lines ahead. From the way things look, it is going to be a very long one.
