Rushton Smitherman raises spirits and glasses at Coal Fired Bistro. His cocktails are known to be a reflection of both the classic Italian food served at CFB and of the speak-easy Prohibition era which inspired the restaurant. Rushton loves to experiment and taste so that every cocktail that is served is nothing but spectacular. This experimentation led to an amazing cocktail list at Coal Fired Bistro, which offers something for every palate from a seasonal pumpkin martini to a classic Sazerac.
Rushton Smitherman’s eyes light up when he talks about beverages. Not just because he’s passionate about the drinks themselves, which he is, but because he’s passionate about the experience people have with drinks. He told us that what excites him “is the expression on their face when they taste something new and delicious…when you know you created art.”
3/4 oz. Cinnamon and Nutmeg Infused Rye Whiskey
1/4 oz. Bailey’s
3/4 oz. Ginger Flavored Brandy
1/4 oz. Kahlua
1/4 oz. Buttershots
Shake in a cheater tin. Strain into glass. Top with cinnamon.
