Restaurants and fast food chains should not be totally blamed for offering the most appetizing treats they could ever make. We love to eat, and they just know where our soft spot for food is.
In the U.S. alone, hundreds of fast food chains and restaurants are established as if the number of obese Americans is not affecting their business. Each year, more and more people are losing the healthy lifestyle, and suffering from risks of heart disease and other medical problems caused by being overweight, excess calories, sodium, etc. This is all a game of mind over matter, a battle between being healthy and having a bite of a plateful of very flavorful steak, a very sweet slice of cake, or a tall glass of good old milkshake. The Center for Science in the Public Interest has released this year’s Xtreme Eating Awards ” the worse foods to eat, disappointing the health scale. The menu plays an important role in the trick to a good business, making an impression through words, while keeping the nutritional value behind the good looks. Here are some of the highlights of the Xtreme Eating Awards 2011.
Denny’s Fried Cheese Melt. Denny’s have found a way to make people drool while ordering. This is by highlighting the Fried Cheese Melt with the words “Four fried mozzarella sticks and melted American cheese grilled between two slices of sourdough bread,”and this also comes with French fries on the side. This goodie good meal would only cost you something like $4, alongside, you get a plate of 1,260 calories (a mix of unhealthy carbs and French fry evilness), 21 grams of saturated fat from the cheesy overload, and of course, something like 3,010 milligrams of sodium. These facts are stated on the website. I just thought you might wanna check it out before heading to one.
The Cheesecake Factory Farmhouse Cheeseburger. Burgers are in since the day they were made, they just got a whole bigger now, than ever. The Cheesecake Factory is famous for offering well-packaged sweet cakes and plateful entrees of steaks and whatever there is. The cheeseburger is made up with a grilled smoked pork belly, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and of course slapped with a cheddar cheese and mayo. But wait, it’s not done yet. They also finished it with an egg on top. The Farmhouse Cheeseburger, like any other burger meals also come with French Fries on the side, making it a full meal. You’d literally die of happiness and sadness at the same time as it is packed with values such as 1,530 calories, 36 grams of saturated fat, and 3,210 milligrams of sodium for the burger alone. The Farmhouse Cheeseburger meal is not complete without 460 calories and 1,460 milligrams of sodium from the fries. One Farmhouse Cheeseburger (without fries) is equivalent to three Quarter Pounders from McDonalds. Seriously, which would you prefer?

The Cheesecake Factory Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake. As if The Chocolate Factory does not have enough entrees on their menu that spell yummy and unhealthy. The Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake ” double the goodness, double the unhealthiness. As its name says, Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake, it is a cake that is also a cheesecake ” can be a little confusing but once you get a slice of it, you’ll know why its named like that. This treat alternates 2 layers of a red velvet cake and 2 layers of cheesecake. Imagine the softness, the sweetness, and every fancy thing you can think of. The Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake got it. Aside from the very classy appearance and layers, it weighs nearly three-quarters of a pound and presents 1,540 calories with 59 grams of saturated fat. Applebee’s Provolone-Stuffed Meatballs With Fettuccine. Just when we think pastas make a little healthy meal, well think again. The Applebee’s Provolone-Stuffed Meatballs With Fettuccine isn’t really healthy-looking, a little appetizing maybe. The fettucine pasta that is made with a Parmesan cream sauce is not as light as Applebee has labeled on their menus. Additionally, it is topped with huge meatballs with marinara sauce and red peppers, served with a garlic bread on the side. If you’re having a hard time stuffing that unto your mouth, imaging stuffing your size with 1,520 calories, 42 grams of saturated fat, and of course 3,700 milligrams of sodium. Pasta needs a little flavor, that explains the sauce and all the toppings that come along with it. Noodles and pastas are said to make your life longer, but this Applebee’s Provolone-Stuffed Meatballs With Fettuccine may not be the right choice for you.
