This is a 100 year old institution of Astoria, so if you've ever wanted to get the real deal Czech food here, Bohemian Hall is the best place to go. It's a Beer Garden and cultural hall all in one. The menu is small but what they do feature is wonderful and satiating. I usually go for the perogies - they have all styles and stuffings but the potato and cheese ones are the best. Be careful in the summer time, because Bohemian Hall gets very crowded and you're sometimes left standing for seating outside. I like going here in the winter, when the crowds are smaller and you can get seating in the bar area which looks like an old Germanic/Eastern European pub!
- Potato Perogies : great ($10)
This gem in the heart of Astoria is one of the best drinking spots in NYC. It's actually a private club so you have to pay your membership fees to get in. It's pretty chill. Lots of beer and sausage and fun. Perhaps not foodie heaven, but great on summer nights.
