This restaurant is situated in the heart of the city, right next to Kenmore square. The decor is a mix of modernity and wooden peaceful vibes. Tables are not huge but just enough to fit all the plates we ordered. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious udon and sushi. The flyer design was very Japanese, which is not that common in Boston. Since it's during Dine-out Restaurant week, we ordered two dine-out menus featuring an udon bowl, 8 nigiri combo, and a small plate of Chicken Karaage.Food was better than we originally expected and the portions were generous. We also got a lychee martini and lady M matcha crape cake as dessert and immediately ran into a food coma.I was surprised to see the low rating on Google since the food was all exquisite, the service was nice, and it has a very good price for what we ordered. I hope there will get more customers soon and I'll be back soon to try more Udon.

We went for lunch and their lunch specials are a lot of food and relatively inexpensive Their bowls of udon or soba are delicious and are served in these gigantic bowls (which actually make them look larger than they actually are). We had these mini sukiyaki Don combo for $10 and mini spicy salmon Don combo for $13 and they came with a separate noodle dish I those large bowls. It was a lot of food for lunch and quite good. The restaurant is right on Kenmore square and has 2 floors so lots of seating available.

I was walking around Kenmore Square yesterday looking for a nice place to eat and came upon Tsurutontan. I had myself cold mentaiko udon and appetizers. They were so good. It's perfect place to have small meats with friends when you don't know where to go for lunch.

I love the uni Ramen. The menu is not as large as the Honolulu location but the quality is the same and more convenient than an 11 hour plane ride.Food: 5/5-Service: 5/5-Atmosphere: 4/5 More

Amazing sushi and phenomenal beef sukiyaki! We found this place while in town for a redsox game. We didn't want to eat junk food around the park so we walked toward the green line. We were amazed by how delicious the food was. This was our second visit. Very affordable with large portions. The interior is trendy and zen while still feeling comfortable. The owner/manager was very friendly and watched over our table with a very polite server. We wanted for nothing and we will return everytime we come into Boston. I highly recommend.

We went there for a lunch. It was a nice setting Japanese restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. But the service was too slow.We ordered assorted sashimi - premium 5 kinds, creamy spicy shrimp tempura, beef udon, cold udon and green tea crepe.I love the assorted sashimi - premium 5 kinds, all of them were high quality and very fresh, especially, I like the sea urchin the best. The bowl container of udon seems very very large, however, the portion of udon was small, just cover the bottom of the large bowl. You cannot be filled up if you have udon only. The flavor of green tea crepe was Ok, but tasted a little soggy.

Solid udon restaurant! Food came relatively quick so we finished under 30 minutes!! We ordered the sushi and udon combo~ Udon was good but it's hard to find a place that's good as Japan. The sukiyaki broth was too sweet and the cold broth was a little too salty.Dine in: Yes More

Great selection of Japanese Udon noodles and boy are the servings generous, not for the appetizers though. Definitely great serving size for sushi and noodles for the price you pay. The food was tasty but too much sesame oil for me, the whole place smelled of it! And beware cause they don't mess around with spicy dishes, it is ”, literally. Quite nice on the inside and the service was pleasant, but a bit disorganized. Check it out!

Went during restaurant week, second time visiting. Sushi doesn't taste so fresh, great job on the plating and creativity though. I added extra to have the wagyu sushi, don't want to say much but I regretted. The udon noodles tasted so sweet and MSG-like it's hard to take another bite. the texture of the udon noodles was really soft, easily break with chopsticks, I thought they're supposed to be chewy? Service wise is great, food wise is very very meh to average.
