This is where I celebrated my thirtieth birthday. I went with a group of about 9 other girls. Everyone had a great time. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, this is a place that will provide that for you. It's not for gourmet foodies or those who are looking to leave stuffed. The food was tasty, but honestly it's not anything I couldn't do at home with some fondue pots. But, I guess that's the point. How many people do you know that make fondue at home regularly and have you ever eaten fondue?
The ambience left something to be desired. It was literally in a basement underground. If there was any artwork, it was so unmemorable that I cannot recall it. The colors were drab. The furniture was not noteworthy. The lighting was dark.
Our server was very good, but another server kept stopping by our table to chat, specifically with one member of our party. It was kind of entertaining, but kind of unprofessional and annoying.
The dinner took forever. It was the only thing we did all night. If you are celebrating or on a date, this is probably a good thing. It gives you time to chat and enjoy yourselves. If you are on a schedule or hope to do anything else go very early.
You also have to cook your own meat for the entree portion, which is interesting. Some of my friends were concerned about making sure it was cooked thoroughly and safe to eat.
The chocolate desserts were delicious. The cheese fondue was really good too. The salads were also tasty.
It was a memorable experience. I think the food is overpriced and a little overrated. Rather than go back, I would host a fondue party of my own at home. Also, if you are planning a large party, they require a credit card to secure your reservation and it seemed like my friend had to deal with a lot of details to plan it for 10-20 people.
- chocolate turtle dessert fondue : so delicious. I loved all the things they brought to be dipped. ($5)
- Cheddar cheese fondue : yummy, especially with granny smith apples ($7)
