The Sidecar Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. The actual railroad car is beautiful to see. The food was some of the best my boyfriend and I have ever had at any restaurant. He had the steak and I had the chicken. He noticed on the menu that you could order fruit and cheese and wondered if that was an appetizer or dessert. I said it could be a dessert and decided to order it after my meal. My boyfriend ordered a make your own salad and I declined because I thought I might be too full to be able to have the cheese afterwards. I thought the server gave me a funny look when I said that but didn't understand why since I am fairly thin. My boyfriend just loved the salad, though it was only the size of a small dinner salad. When our entrees were served I noticed the portions were rather small and I should have ordered the salad. The food was wonderful. The chicken was better than any chicken I have ever had. The steak was also good. We did get the cheese for dessert and it was the best thing we ever did. It had 3 cheeses (you get to pick which cheeses you want from cow, goat, etc.) and served with figs, nuts, berries plums and bread (they need to give more bread). If every restaurant prepared this dish, I would order it after every meal. All in all, for those planning to go to the Sidecar Restaurant: 1. The food is fantastic, the best ever. 2. The portions are small, so order more than normal. 3. It takes a while between courses (not even close to the hour another patron had to wait). 4. The service is normal for a restaurant of this type, but it was far from excellent.
