First time dining and it was great! Large sandwiches and the smoke on the brisket and pork was really, really good! Big portions, great service and the price for the amount is spot on!

This location has went through tons of different restaurants. However, Fort 88 is the newest and best option. The drinks are fun and unique with a wide selection of Wisconsin beers. The food is limited but unique and super delicious. Multiple smoked and fried options at this restaurant. I was impressed with the food but not overly impressed. This place is definitely worth a stop though.

Tasty old fashioned drinks, there are 2 types. Mac & cheese was good. Dumpling soup was very good. Steak was ok. Potatoes were not warm, steak was not warm too. Beans were tasty but not warm and did not look appetizing. Corn bread was room temperature and average taste. Ambiance is good.

Mother’s Day Brunch was a miss. Came right at 11 with half the City … too crowded for the space! Had to wait in lonnnng line that cut through diner’s eating space and nobody could get up if they wanted to, at least not without a lot of trouble. The poor waitstaff couldn’t maneuver around. By the time I got to the buffet it was pretty picked over—and cold. I really wanted some good Mac & Cheese! I did enjoy the tenderloin! And the Strawberry Mimosas! I never give a place just one chance so I’ll definitely try again—I’d love to go for a date night or something.

I'm always excited to try new local brisket. I was pretty disappointed with it. No smoke ring. And a good third of my portion was fat cap. The bark was very thin and basically nonexistent. The cornbread was just odd IMO.The half chicken my wife ordered was dry and bland. Which she was pretty sad about. The cheese curds are delicious and the fried pickles are one of the best I've ever had.The restaurant itself is pretty awesome and the service staff, including the bar tender that ran our table were all super friendly.

Second time we've tried carryout here and again we're disappointed. Order was supposed to be ready at 6:36, but it was 10+ min early (ok, not usually a problem unless coming home from out of town). Things got cold fast in their carryout containers.Ordered a 2 meat and a 3 meat platter with waffle fries and Fort 88 Mac, and some extra corn muffins. Most everything was just bland and sad. One platter had coleslaw splattered about (see pic), which didn't happen on my drive home. Muffins were soaked in coleslaw and meat juice in the platter boxes and portions were small. Only two slices of brisket on a platter. Brisket was dry and bland, no smoke flavor at all, lots of fat. Fort 88 Mac was bland as well. Ribs and waffle fries were ok, I guess. For $80+ including tip, I'd expect better.

I'm not a fan of thick cut fatty brisket and this was both. No smoke ring to speak of. Picture is of all the uneatable fat with a few strands of meat in it. Waitress was very attentive, building is really nice but very cold, its that time of year when the AC needs to be watched. I had brussel sprouts, they were in a gelatinous sweet sauce. Purple cabbage is good.
