Who doesn't love pizza! Plus, these are some unique little deep dish pies. In all honesty, I'm not a fan of marinara, so for the folks out there who dislike a lot of tomato, be weary. We ordered just one pie for two of us and it was more than enough. I would have like to try more but the pizza is loaded. It had a nice thick layer of tomato sauce and real chunks of tomato still mixed in with pepperoni and a thick layer of mozzarella that pulled apart like in a commercial, mouthwatering. The crust was thin but toasty enough to keep its structure. I loved the baked cloves of garlic and you could still taste the fresh oregano and basil it was topped with. It was so good, but I feel like the tomato was just too much, FOR ME and my stomach. Just my personal opinion. Other than that the food was fairly priced, it was a nice experience dining inside especially once they started playing funk. I will definitely have to return to try something new.

First off, the name Black Bird Pizza should already have you curious on what this place is about. As for the food, well let's jump right into it... The deep dish is made perfectly and they'll stuff it with toppings of your choice. The Brooklyn style thin crust pizza was actually some of the best pizza I've ever had, as you can see I went with pineapples on one side and traditional pepperoni on the other side. The chicken wings are really really good and I recommend getting them every time you go, only complaint that I have is they don't offer Ranch they only give you blue cheese. The service is extremely nice and people friendly which is always a plus, last but not least is pricing.... This place is very affordable! You can eat great food and not worry about a huge bill once you've finished your meal. Overall, Black Bird Pizza is a must try for any and all Pizza Heads out there who haven't tried it yet.

The Spicy Italian deep dish is to DIE FOR. Every ingredient tastes so crisp and fresh. The tomato is so juicy and fill of flavor. The inside of the crust is soft AF and the outer layer is the perfect balance of crispy.The energies there matched the quality of the food - amazing! Thanks for the service and great food <3

The blackbird is phenomenal. Tastes just as amazing as the first time I had it. I drove up from San Diego just to get some of this pizza.

The pizzas were amazing. I have been looking for deep dish pizzas and I must tell you this is the place to go. I have been there about three to four times.They also have a bar. Would love to try those beer next time.They have two types of vegetarian pizza Blackbird and Melrose. The size of the pizza is big atleast for 4 to 6 peopleThe ambience is pretty chill.

Blackbird Pizza makes a mean deep dish pizza! Moving to LA from the midwest, I've really missed a good deep dish pizza place and this restaurant does the deep dish justice! The Melrose Ave pizza was excellent. From the looks of the menu it seems that you can make a vegan pizza here too and they have a great variety for both vegetarians and meat eaters. It is a small location, so if you come during busy hours I recommend making a reservation so you don't have to wait a long time for a table.

Don't plan anything strenuous if you're stopping here for a meal first. The food is amazing and the accompanying food coma is no joke. I had a Spicy Italian and it was wonderful. They are open for dine in and Melrose is a fun place for people watching so sit back, get full, and enjoy the show.

Italian pizza restaurant with a lot of choices and types of pizza.We took a classic margarita (thin crust) and their deep dish signature pizza (Chicago style pizza)Both were very delicious.The staff is very friendly and helpful.The service is quick and efficient.The decoration is nice.highly recommended! :)

The food here is awesome and the pizza was so delicious! I would suggest definitely ordering a appetizer here because of the wait times. We ordered the spicy chicken which was also amazing. The only reason why I gave 3 stars was cause of the wait time for everything. We were told the pizza would be ready in 30min but we waited for our pizza for well over an hour while this place was not busy at all.Our waiter was very nice but was very hard to order more drinks because they were to busy talking at the bar we had to eventually go up to the bar to order another round while still awaiting a very long time to get our beers and wine.I don't understand why it took so long to recieve our 2nd round either when it was not busy at all and it was just something so simple like pouring the glasses of beer and wine by the time we got our drinks we lost our buzz lol. The employees were to busy talking to each other at the bar and I think they loose track of the customers that is there.I would recommend to this business being on top of it probably paying attention more to your customers and at least serving the drinks in a timely manner especially having to wait so long for the food. We were probably waiting a total of 2 hours total for everything to finally arrive.
