I have gotten the Bob Evans stuff from the grocery store before so I figured one day, why not try out the restaurant. It had to be one of the worst places I have ever eaten.
My husband and I went alone, without the children so there were no problems there. When we got there it took forever to get seated, even though it appeared the place was at least half empty. When we finally did get seated, it took at least 10 minutes for someone to come to get just our drink orders. Took another 10 minutes to get them after we ordered. We decided to stay hoping the food would make it worth while.
Before I get to the food though, I can say the atmosphere was decent. We sat at a nice little quaint table. Everything was clean looking and there was a nice distance in between the tables so you didn't feel like you were sitting with your neighbors. I don't think we could make out anyone elses conversations so it was decently quiet as well. Place had a nice homey feel to it.
For the food though, after we ordered and our food came we realized, yikes! we didnt have any silverware. There werent any on the any tables nearby or I would have simply gotten a clean set myself after waiting the better part of 10 minutes for them. The waitor finally brought them and I wished he hadn't.
The food was terrible. It tasted like an old tv dinner and wasn't even warm anymore. The bread was hard and stale looking. I didn't bother tasting it after I tasted the meal. The salad that came with it had old shriveled up lettuce and the tomatos still had a lot of green on them, they weren't ripe yet. It really was just a pathetic meal.
The waitor wasn't any better than the food. He came to our table one time after we ordered our food and that was to bring us our silverware after my husband tracked him down in the place and told him we needed some. He never even brought our check, we had to request it from the manager so we could get out of there. Their food at the grocery store may not be too bad (average) but their restaurant was horrible. You couldn't pay me to go back there agian.
