First time at May Day and it was a great experience. Great place for brunch! We had the vegan curry cashew rice, red pepper lentil soup, cappuccino w/ almond milk, hot apple cider, vegan cherry almond scone, and vegan oatmeal cookie!

There's something very special about May Day. I very much miss living a few blocks away, but we have made it back a few times since we moved a year ago and it's like coming home.If youre looking for something more substantial than a baked good go for the breakfast sandwich. The veggie sausage is fantastic. Their soups are always delicious.

My 1st time here, to have a coffee. Wonderful & priced very economical vs the high priced Caribou & Starbucks. The coffee was better than both of these places!I had an amazing piece of pizza.Sitting outside in the sunshine was the best. This is a very charming coffee shop, with a large variety of great food!!

Just an all around lovely place! Great coffee, very homey, cozy interior that is kid friendly, a wonderfully refreshing progressive attitude.Oh and the quiche. Don't let me forget the quiche. A HUGE slice of quiche comes with a small side salad, which proves to be the best deal ever. Try the quiche.Am I saying "quiche" too much? I feel like I'm saying "quiche" too much...Anyway, come to Mayday and spend all you're money to support a great place.????

Awesome shop, they have legit breakfast food along with a full bakery case of goodies. Got a latte, my husband got a miel and both were really good. The atmosphere is really cool as well. Will definitely be back!Parking: Street parking. Busy area so might have to walk a bit from your car

Relaxed, comfortable environment that is welcoming and diverse. It can get pretty busy. They do have some very tasty gluten free scones!

Mayday has ridiculously low-priced delicious baked goods. Giant cookies and muffins, all set a very welcoming neighborhood cafe.

My spouse and I have been here twice, but every time we come there is always a weird vibe with the staff. They often come off as unfriendly and stand-offish towards us, even when we go out of our way to try and be friendly to them. I gave a friendly hi to the cashier as I was approaching the counter, and was met with no response, just a stare. As a visibly queer and BIPOC couple we take interactions like this as a red flag.... it feels very performative for staff to be wearing a shirt that says "ACAB", and have signs around the store saying "all are welcome here" and "Black Lives Matter", when the staff on multiple occasions has been unfriendly to my spouse and I as a BIPOC queer couple. Each time we have come in, we watch the staff be extra friendly and outgoing to white people immediately after uncomfortably trying to interact with us. It feels like your standard case of Minnesota Nice aka Minnesota Passive Aggressively Racist. My spouse and I always try to write our reviewsabout establishments honestly in order to allow people of color to know what they're walking into when they comeinto spaces like this. Be wary of this performative space!
