I love eating here! The food is always good and filling. And don't worry about being formal. You are encouraged to eat with your hands! If you've never been, you must check out Blue Nile Cafe. Although not as spicy as traditional Ethiopian fold, it is athentic and top quality all the way. I especially like the personal attention the staff provides. Even if you're not the only table there, it feels like it.
Saucy Q is our barbecue restaurant of choice when it comes to introducing my significant other's (yankee) family friends to "down-south" barbecue. Both locations of the restaurant are usually busy, with the Government location being the roomier of the two.
Their signature sauce is great, smoky, sweet, tangy - everything a great BBQ sauce should be. And the best thing about it, it's for sale! We never leave a visit without a small bottle.
The menu features everything from ribs to sausage to chicken. My favorites are the loaded potatoes ($6.95). They come topped with either pork, beef or chicken and are loaded with sour cream, butter, cheese and BBQ sauce. They definitely are a meal by themselves.
Available sides are baked beans, cole slaw, fried okra, collard greens, potato salad, mac and cheese, fries, onion rings, red beans rice, cornbread cornbread dressing and steamed veggies.
Please, please, please get the banana pudding or peach cobbler when you go ($1.95). Just don't do it on the nights I plan on going, since the desserts usually sell out fast. They're THAT good!
Saucy Q is a Hog Wild Award Winner for a reason, so make sure to check them out.
