I've had Sal's food a total of 5 times. 2 times it was pizza. The crust was incredibly soggy, it didn't hold up under the toppings, everything slid off and it was impossible to eat. So we knew we didn't like their pizza.

But they are just about the only ones in town who deliver, so we thought we'd give the rest of their menu a chance. We've ordered 3 times in the last week. The first time was alright, linguini with calamari nothing really special (though the garlic knots are great, but that is not reason enough to keep ordering- keep reading to find out why). Second time, the burger was kind of gross. The cannoli was just ok.

Tonight my son and I ordered chicken strips. Two 8 piece orders. They arrived and were completely overcooked. We tried to choke them down, but ate roughly half of 2 pieces each (because about half of each one was too tough to be edible), before we both agreed that we just couldn't make ourselves choke them down. They were cooked in really old oil, the breading was flaky so was meant to have a more delicate texture when cooked properly but instead was just dry and nasty. So I called. I was very nice. I don't get mad about this kind of thing- I know that it happens sometimes. The nice girl on the phone went to go talk to management. They said that the only way they will refund is if we drive the chicken strips back. Dear lord. Okay. Fully inconvenienced since the whole point of having them delivered had now been negated, I drove them back. $14 worth of food that was inedible. Guess how much they refunded me? $7 because they said since we had eaten 2 out of each order that they would only refund one order. The ladies up at the front were really sweet, this wasn't their fault. They even thanked me for how nice I was about it. I told them I was sure that if it was them running the place they'd make much better decisions regarding customer service.

I will never order from Sal's again. Ever. There's no reason to! Besides delivery, they have nothing to offer. If I want pizza, I'd rather get it from Village Pizza. If I want cannolis, they're better at Taste Budd's. The only thing Sal's had going for it was that they delivered, and sadly, it's just not enough to compensate for their terrible service toward customers.
