Always impressed by the food and kind service here. Great for a nice date or a celebration dinner with family. Lovely lighting inside and charming plates and silverware. The homemade pasta is excellent and the appetizers are fresh and seasonal!

Yet again, nothing special from the outside-maybe even a bit of a turn off but once you get inside you see the character of the place. Gersi is the nickname of the owner, who is Albanian. Yummy!!!

I wish I’d taken more photos of the dishes. Wine selection is aces, the table bread with beans was weird, but good! Our pasta dishes and the tiramisu was yummy. The only thing we didn’t much care for was the bruschetta. It’s served as a large slice and was just not as good as we’ve had at other places. Will definitely return.

I’m gonna make this shirt and sweet. I’mGersi is the best. The staff, the food, the environment. There is nothing bad about it. Emma is amazing! So sweet and helpful! Helped me decide on the chicken part when I said I really wanted something with mozzarella. It’s DELICIOUS! Hands down the best I’ve ever had, and I am a harsh critique.

I met up with friends for a girls night out. We ate in the enclosed space in front of the restaurant. This area has heaters and there were blankets at our table, if you wanted something to keep you extra cozy. I added ricotta to my dish, which was the Tagliatelle Bolognese. It was great! We all had a hard time deciding what to eat because everything looked so good. It was a lovely evening.

Definitely great time? Food was superb. Just couple of things to know before you go!Make a reservation! We made one for 8:15, thinking be less people- definitely packed. Parking is on the street so get their early or be okay with walking. Also, it’s a small place, like you’d find in NYC, so it’s loud!My advice, don’t go if you’re on a time crunch! Let yourself enjoy, get some drinks and apps and the people you’re with!Also the Raspberry 75, yum! And this is the Sweet Pepper Crostini - recommended!

Don't judge the book by its cover and in the case of Gersi, the entrance to the restaurant. No sign other than a small one on the sidewalk might fool some people.But ... who cares, the food is outstanding. Grilled polenta with gorganzola, a veal Milanese, and my favorite orchietti with broccoli rabe and sausage.This is now our italian spot!

Very small building so space can become an issue during peak hours. Well-appointed bar in a friendly staff. They do have outdoor seating but it's not very nice and you're on a fairly busy street. No issues with the food it was very tasty traditional Italian cuisine. It's moderately priced not inexpensive but not really expensive. Portions were okay not extremely large as you typically find with Italian but I don't have a big appetite.

Our meal at Gersi was lovely. Very spur of the moment decision after the weather turned on Saturday. In the future we will probably call and make reservations but perhaps not.We sat at the bar and Skylar made our experience frankly. She was fun, pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable. We'll probably sit at the bar again because of her. We'll see!We only had really one negative thus the 4 star rating as opposed to 5. That missing 1 star is an important one. Both of our pastas had great flavor and were so on the edge of being inedible. The salt profile was almost stinging. I am all about liberally salting my pasta water but this was a lot. So much so that both of us kept talking about how the flavors in our main course were evident but muted by the salt. We just weren't quite sure if that was intentional. We certainly hope not. It was a romantic and fun time. We want that again!The bread was good. The fennel and citrus salad was delicious. It was bright and refreshing. A good palate cleanse. The veal meatballs were magical little balls of pure flavor. I could eat them until I burst.The atmosphere was a blend of family and bistro dining. A little eclectic. Warm and inviting. Definitely lower key.Prices were not bad. Appropriate for the meal you get. Median high is probably about right but worth it.All in all it's a great place! Once again we can't thank Skylar enough for making our experience a fantastic one!

Cozy and homey environment while still feeling upscale. I love the low lit ambiance and the friendly but not-too-present service which invites you to enjoy yourself and stay awhile. The homemade ricotta was creamy and rich- so don’t pass it up if your dish comes with the option. It’s worth the extra charge! I tried the lemon spaghetti which seems to be all the rage- it was yummy and unique and strangely addictive, but I felt it could have used a mix in. I just wanted a little more from it. We loved the bolognese and the Panna cotta. We will be going back to try other things!
