Awesome food. Just loved it.
The central tenet of this menu is variety. It is difficult to offer a review of the food at Lark since the menu changes according to the best available seasonal and local foods. The plates are small, like saucers, because you are meant to order several and share them with your group. It is not unusual to order 6-10 plates, and the wait staff will tell you so when they seat you.
Lark is located in a less dense area of Capitol Hill, a popular neighborhood in Seattle. It is cozy, and the decor is simple. The tables are long to encourage large communal-type gatherings. The menu takes time to read. It’s over 10 pages, and very helpful in describing each dish. If you still have questions, the wait staff is patient and can answer any question in a lucid manner.
Lark offers plates of cheese, charcuterie, vegetables, grains, fish, and meats. Last spring, I found meat plates suitable to spring that varied from tantalizing to the ultimate comfort food. That was almost a year ago, and the menu, of course is completely different, according to whatever is best today.
The only item that’s always on the menu is handmade crackers. For only $3 and the portion is way generous. They are simple, but not bland. They are light, delicate, and perfect with any cheese whether from goat to cow, earthy to rich, sweet to tangy.
- Homemade crackers : perfect for every local cheese available ($3)
